Meet the Band

Linda Willard

As a small child, I had good Christian parents, who took me to church, and kept me in the choir. I thank God for what they did for me. The Lord, gave me a gift to sing, and play some on the piano. I’m not the best, but I love to try, because I know what I’m doing is to up-lift the Lord’s name. I’ve been singing my entire life, with family and with groups. I enjoy good gospel music, and gospel singing. The Lord has blessed me with my singing, music and other ways as well.

My husband, Butch, started a group called “Final Flight” in the 80’s. I sang alto with this group for three years, then the group disbanded. Then, he started another group in 1994, called the “Genesis Gospel Singers”. I sang alto and some lead with this group for nine years, and the group disbanded for various reasons. Butch was playing guitar for Angel Band, and I would go with him to their practice sessions. At the time, I would sing low in the background as the group practiced. Angel Band knew I had been singing with a gospel group at one time. One day a member of the Angel Band called me and asked if I would be interested in singing with them. I told the member of the group that I would consider the position, pray about it and let them know. I know the Lord gives us all talents, he wants us to use these talents, and if we don’t use our talents for the glory of the Lord, they will be taken away. This was my open opportunity to sing again for the Lord.

I started singing with Angel Band in June 2003 and still presently sing with the group. I sing alto, some lead and second tenor. On May 2004, I became secretary, treasurer, and schedule the bookings for Angel Band. Angel Band is like a family. I enjoy singing with the group very much. We have good times, and bad times, but the Lord always reaches down, picks us up and takes us through our moments. I love each one in our group. We are not singing for self-recognition or money but for hope. We pray through our music ministry a soul will be saved. We have recently seen several souls saved under our singing ministry. “PRAISE GOD!” May God bless you, and keep Angel Band Ministries in your daily prayers.
