Angel Band Ministries

The group sent off a number of balloons in loving memory of Amber Ashworth who passed years ago with osteosarcoma. Her dad played bass guitar and drove the bus with Angel Band during the time of her sickness and death. We will never forget this brave young woman and how she witnessed to people around the world. Her favorite saying was F.R.O.G., this means "Fully Relying on God" and that she did. You may read more about Amber at www.amberashworth.com.

Angel Band decided we wanted to try our wings at something other than singing. Janice and Portia have done some mission work in Hati.  Janice has been to Hati 5 times; the last time to help Pastor Overstreet and his wife in their orphanage. So, missions are dear to our hearts. We prayed about it, and there are many good missionaries that we know, but the Lord directed us to Bother and Sister Ashby from Sanford, N.C. They have traveled all over the world preaching, praying, and giving clothes and food to poverty stricken people. God directed us to them because we know them personally and we know what we give in money or items will get there. They return with pictures that mean so much to us. They usually buy beans and rice and try to give each family a 4-5 lb. bag.

We have been sending items for two orphanages in  the Dominican Republic for the last several years at Christmas time. There is an old couple, Brother and Sister Autograssi, who have been taking care of a lot of children for a long time. It is sad Brother Autograssi passed away a little while ago leaving Sister Autograssi alone to try to take care of the children. This couple is/was well into their seventies. The children the Autograssi's have taken care of will receive nothing for Christmas unless people like you and I send something.  If God leads you to help, we need to have it to the Ashby's by October 15, 2007. I will give you a list of things that will be helpful. Of course, money is always good because they can buy food.  Toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair bows, small toys, dial soap, coloring books, crayons, pencils, paper, good used clothing, peroxide, etc. Remember it is hot  there.  The ages go up to twelve years old. You may read more about the Ashby's and their ministry at:  gomashbylm@aol.com.

If you want to be blessed, give to missions.  Little is much when God is in it.
